Timeless and Classic Outfit Inspiration

We are thrilled to be featuring Kedesha of the popular Instagram Prim & Proper. Kedesha's style has been a favorite of ours and we were thrilled when she agreed to be featured on the Sea to Skye blog. Here she talks all about her personal style, favorite brands and what she packs for a weekend getaway.

Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I am a Seventh-day Adventist Christian, originally from the island of Jamaica, but migrated to the USA when I was nine years old. I currently reside in the sunshine state, Florida. My husband and I have been married for an amazing 16 years, and we have two delightful girls that we homeschool, who are the apples of our eyes!

I’m a lover of all things classic and preppy. While my favorite is the classic Americana look, I also have a strong affinity for British styles ranging from apparel to a bit of home decor.

How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style would best be described as modest and preppy. I absolutely love dresses! While casual is my usual go-to, I do have a fondness for dressy ones that have a timeless/classic look. Blazers are also favorites of mine. I find that they have the ability to transform a look as much as shoes do. I’m not a fan of trends, but if I see some thing that will compliment my usual look, such as knot headbands, then I’m all there!

What are 3 of your favorite brands right now?
I would have to say Vineyard Vines, Boden, and Lilly Pulitzer. Make no mistake, I have quite a few more, but these three are on the top of my list.

Do you have any family traditions during the holiday season?
We do! Our favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, and during our preparation we love to have the 1995, six-episode version of Pride and Prejudice playing all day. We actually adopted that tradition from my in-laws and our girls love it very much. Once dinner is served we gather around the table and all take turn saying what we are thankful to God for. Then, we bless our meal.

What are the two items you always pack when going on a weekend getaway?
For a weekend getaway, anti-frizz serum and a denim skirt. I know, not the usual for most. My short getaways are usually in our state and Florida is known for its humidity which tends to frizz my hair a lot. Denim goes with everything and one can pack multiple tops and one bottom. It keeps my bag light, which my husband tends to appreciate.
