When we first stumbled upon Claudia Berresford's instagram, @claudia_berresford, it was instantly clear she was going to become one of our favorite style muses. English countryside walks in dresses layered with knit sweaters? Yes, please. We were absolutely thrilled when she said yes to a feature on the Sea to Skye blog where she shares all about her Suffolk style and her favorite brands of the moment.
Would you mind telling us a bit about yourself?
I run the blog PartyAtTheBack.co.uk, which started as a project dedicated mostly to dresses with that wow feature at the back - think low cut back, bows, straps - but has now become a curated space for my favourite designer, independent & high-street finds. I live in Suffolk with my family & our dog, and over the past year I can safely say we’ve become an encyclopaedia on Suffolk walks.
How would you describe your style?
I’m all for a simple, versatile and feminine style, which is why I think I opt for midi dresses most of the time - a simple all in one outfit, that you can dress up or down. Most of the dresses I own I can wear at a wedding as well as a walk in the park which is an important consideration when I purchase something new.
What is your go-to outfit for a weekend in the countryside?
At the moment all we can do at the weekend is go for long dog walks like everyone I know I’ve been living in comfy joggers but unless it’s raining I try to put a dress on, layer it with a knit & a coat and depending how muddy it is, chunky boots or wellies!
What are some of your favorite brands right now?
I have so many! There are some brands I go back to time and time again, like Sleeper - I’m obsessed with their Atlanta dress and I buy one in a new print every year, but in the last year I discovered so many amazing independent brands like Seraphina whose dresses I adore, Johanna Sands - I love all her designs and finally managed to get my hands on one of her dresses last year, Damselfly London, for classic forever pieces, Vjera V for her wonderful hand beaded knits and dresses and I’m almost never not wearing Soru Jewellery, they’re my go-to jewellery brand!
My two favourite independent online shops to buy from are Omi Na-Na, Esha curates the most incredible sustainable garments from Indian designers and Studio B, Bethany has such a good eye for Scandinavian brands and also stocks limited edition Sleeper designs which you can’t get elsewhere. I try to share as many of the independent brands I love and new ones I discover on @my.littlebookofwonders.
