Jordan is the southern gal and DIY talent behind the popular home decor inspiration blog, A Blue Nest. She lives with her husband and two adorable girls in Tennessee and loves all things with an ode to English and Scottish decor. In other words, she's our kindred spirit.
How would you describe your overall interior design style?
I would describe my overall style as a mix of English country, traditional and vintage with a classic twist. Historically, I’ve always been drawn to shabby chic interiors. However, my husband grew up in a log cabin, is an avid outdoorsman and prefers a more rustic style. My style for our home has evolved to encompass what we both love.
What's your favorite room in your home right now and why?
I love our bedroom with its bird wallpaper and also parts of our kitchen. Specifically the half where we just installed the bead board and that also houses my favorite wooden hutch and collection of dishes. The rest of our kitchen isn’t quite to my taste, and I’m still trying to convince my husband that we need to paint our cabinets!
What influences your interior design style?
Oh gosh. So much! I’m always influenced by English country houses, but also European country houses in general. There are aspects of French country style I also love. Our trip to Scotland two years ago has been a huge source of inspiration. Ralph Lauren, Colefax and Fowler, Sims Hilditch Interiors, Stephanie Sabbe and Paula Sutton of @hillhousevintage are all continually inspiring me as well.

What's a home DIY project you've worked on you're most proud of?
I’ve wallpapered accent walls in two rooms by myself and am ridiculously proud of that!
